Day 78: What Day Is It Again?

It just sucks to be a Mom and not be feeling well, because the being a Mom part doesn't stop! So, for the first time in a long time I've missed multiple weekdays. I'll try to catch up again soon. In the meantime, check out those eyes.. at the park on one of our first warm days.

This was a week ago Friday. I particularly like the reflection in the rain on the boards.

(I know. It's a "daily" photo blog. I take something every day, I do! But sometimes life happens and I download weekly. If we were in NC, we'd say, "Git 'er done!")

Day 75: Cupcake Beard

My 2.5 year old convinced me to make cupcakes with him one afternoon this week (parenting is full of all sorts of lessons like this.) Pretty obvious what happens when you hand a toddler a mixer beater full of chocolate cake batter.. the rest of the pictures are all smiles but were fuzzy; this one only looks like he feels guilty. He didn't!

As you probably guessed, we went to the Kennedy Center on Fri night for Verdi's Requiem. Here is the outside shot I got as we drove away (weeping), with some cool lights of the city behind on the left.

So, I'm painfully aware that I live in one of the most picturesque, photogenic capitals in the world, and I've been shooting daily shots of... my kids. And my dogs. So I'm trying to capture a little more of our glorious city. For my fellow photobloggers.

I went to drop off a donation to a charitable organization this weekend, and, wanting to capture the bright blue sky shining overhead, looked up and saw this. Cool building.

My goal is to go back and figure out a more artistic way to shoot this. I just love that these two sit beside each other, in perfect harmony (that we know of.)

Continuing on the same theme.. I abhor using the flash on my dSLR, because of how flat and washed out everything becomes, but this one turned out okay.

I couldn't get her to stop moving. She's my star poser, but was itching for a scratch soo badly she couldn't sit still, so I need to sharpen this up in Lightroom which I just downloaded!! (Now I need someone to help me figure out how to use it!)

Day 60: Flip Flop Nation

We went out to our local "Beach Shack" (cool seafood joint) with some friends and toddler friends to see a kid's musician play.. then stayed for dinner with our huge crowd. This wall had signed flip-flops all over it, so of course I told everyone I had to "get it for my photo blog." This was met with blank looks.
