Day 81: Don't Hate Me

Camera: Nikon D5000
This is where we are right now. Yes. Pretty nice. I've got some shots I'm excited to share. ..soon!

Day 80: Dark Lashes Delight

Nikon D5000

Yes, this is SOOC (straight-outta-the-camera)! From our first baby "shoot" that I held the other day. He's a pretty good sport, as are all my blog viewers that see so many pictures of him.

Day 79: Cheap Tricks

Nikon D5000

A cheap trick for getting some bird shots for my blog. We'll see if they cooperate . (:

Day 78: What Day Is It Again?

Nikon D5000

It just sucks to be a Mom and not be feeling well, because the being a Mom part doesn't stop! So, for the first time in a long time I've missed multiple weekdays. I'll try to catch up again soon. In the meantime, check out those eyes.. at the park on one of our first warm days.

Day 77: Attention

Nikon D5000
Something she and her brother dont' get a lot these days..

Day 76: Stubborn Snow

Nikon D5000

This was a week ago Friday. I particularly like the reflection in the rain on the boards.

(I know. It's a "daily" photo blog. I take something every day, I do! But sometimes life happens and I download weekly. If we were in NC, we'd say, "Git 'er done!")

Day 75: Cupcake Beard

Camera: Nikon D5000

My 2.5 year old convinced me to make cupcakes with him one afternoon this week (parenting is full of all sorts of lessons like this.) Pretty obvious what happens when you hand a toddler a mixer beater full of chocolate cake batter.. the rest of the pictures are all smiles but were fuzzy; this one only looks like he feels guilty. He didn't!

Day 74: Read Me!

Nikon D5000

I sit next to them every time I'm on my laptop, and they sit there and call to me..."Read me! Use me! Stop winging it!"

Day 73: Kennedy by Night

Camera: Nikon Coolpix S570

As you probably guessed, we went to the Kennedy Center on Fri night for Verdi's Requiem. Here is the outside shot I got as we drove away (weeping), with some cool lights of the city behind on the left.

Day 70-72: Catching Up

Day 70: Flags of the World
(Hall of Nations, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts)

Day 71: Lights

Day 72: Toddler Bowling

Day 69: Littlest Hand

Nikon D5000

The last few days have been pretty crazy; so here's a shot I took last week of my littlest man's imprint at two weeks of age.

I know I'm way behind in my photo-blog days. I'll catch up soon when I get my feet underneath me. If I can find them.

Day 68: When Irish Eyes Are Smilin'

Nikon D5000

I know. (: It's my wallpaper. I just thought I'd warm everyone's heart for the weekend, since I don't always get to post every weekend-day.

And the answer to yesterday's riddle: It's actually the close-up of a lamp shade, with the bulb turned on. Pretty cool, huh?

Day 67: You Tell Me

Nikon D5000

Any guesses?

And if anyone wants the raw file to make a texture, let me know at fingersandpaws[at]gmail[dot]com !

Day 66: Tiny Tips

Nikon D5000

I never, ever get tired of shooting teeny tiny fingers and toes.

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

Day 65: Snowmelt-man

Nikon D5000

The snow is melting behind him, in our yard. I like the juxtaposition. (I tried to make this another self-portrait opportunity, but opted for the natural light on his little scarf.)

Day 64: Architectural Digest

Nikon S570 (point-n-shoot)

So, I'm painfully aware that I live in one of the most picturesque, photogenic capitals in the world, and I've been shooting daily shots of... my kids. And my dogs. So I'm trying to capture a little more of our glorious city. For my fellow photobloggers.

I went to drop off a donation to a charitable organization this weekend, and, wanting to capture the bright blue sky shining overhead, looked up and saw this. Cool building.

Day 63: oPPOSITE dAY

Camera: Nikon S570 (point-n-shoot)

My goal is to go back and figure out a more artistic way to shoot this. I just love that these two sit beside each other, in perfect harmony (that we know of.)

Day 62: Play With Me

Nikon D5000

Continuing on the same theme.. I abhor using the flash on my dSLR, because of how flat and washed out everything becomes, but this one turned out okay.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Day 61: Pet Me

Nikon D5000

I couldn't get her to stop moving. She's my star poser, but was itching for a scratch soo badly she couldn't sit still, so I need to sharpen this up in Lightroom which I just downloaded!! (Now I need someone to help me figure out how to use it!)

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Day 60: Flip Flop Nation

Camera: Nikon D5000

We went out to our local "Beach Shack" (cool seafood joint) with some friends and toddler friends to see a kid's musician play.. then stayed for dinner with our huge crowd. This wall had signed flip-flops all over it, so of course I told everyone I had to "get it for my photo blog." This was met with blank looks.

Day 58: Parenting by Remote

Other 365ers will relate to how hard it can be to find a GREAT picture every single day.. so this is what you get today. (:

Monday, March 1, 2010

Day 57: Toddler Toes

Camera: Nikon D5000

I think my toddler and baby's toes are some of the cutest on the planet.. but c'mon, what baby's toes aren't cute? This wasn't the "money" shot I wanted, but I like this one as well.. very expressive.
